primary requirements :1. 10+ years commercial software design and development experience in the electronics industry.
2.Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
3.Understanding of CAN protocol stack enabling communication technology desired.
4.Strong embedded and PC software product development experience.
5.Able to select software architecture across the entire product range.
6. Able to define, document, generate and translate requirements into commercially viable products.
7. Excellent communication and team oriented work skills with demonstrated excellent spoken and written English.
8. Hold a valid, current passport and driver's licence and able to travel overseas.
9. Excellent project management skills.
10. Able to mentor and eventually lead a R&D team that is comprised of another software engineer, hardware engineer, technician, component engineer, project manager and subcontract engineers.
11. Some exposure to or understanding of software design and development desired.
12. Able and willing to commit at least five years.
13. Definitely a result action orientated coder.
14. Hold a current passport and able and willing to travel 5-10% overseas as may be required from time to time.
primary duties :This is very much a hands on software developer role that could lead into team management of client's NZ R&D Centre.
1.Liaise with the Senior Hardware Engineer to ensure successful software/hardware interfaces for projects.
2.Select software architecture across entire product range.
3.Select appropriate software platforms and support tools.
4.Translate requirements into functional and technical software requirements.
5.Design all software aspects associated with products.
6.Manage the day to day software activities of projects by defining, implementing and maintaining a modular progressive software development strategy.
7.Oversee the generation of all programming code for projects.
8.Estimate resource requirements for software components of projects.
9.Oversee software verification and validation for projects.
10.Oversee the test and debug of prototype units.
11. Champion design freezes to achieve deliverable products.
12. Oversee and assist to generate software documentation that complies with company and industry standards.
13. Liaise with sister companies and R&D centre in Singapore, technology and service providers during product design and production to ensure the smooth product introduction and that cost and quality goals are met.
14. Complete any and all reasonable tasks allocated to standards specified.
15. Research, plan, define, execute, monitor and ensure timely delivery of software for projects in conjunction with internal and external engineers and resources.
