| primary requirements : | 1. Nursing Qualifications. 2. Minimum two years post-graduate clinical experience. 3. Proof of qualification and/or registration with the appropriate registration authority, including any necessary endorsements to be provided prior to start date. 4. Registered or eligible for registration with the Queensland Nursing Council with Midwifery endorsement required. 5. Current Annual Licence Certificate. 6. Able to commit at least 2-3 years. 7. Able and willing to be on call roster within the hospital. 8. Able to provide accurate, comprehensive nursing assessments of individuals and groups in a variety of settings including maternity. 9. Knowledge of contemporary human resource management issues including Workplace Health and Safety issues, Equal Employment Opportunity and anti-discrimination. 10. Current car driver’s license. |
| primary duties : | 1. Provide direct nursing/midwifery patient care using the problem solving approach incorporating health promotion both within the clinical and community settings. Take responsibility and be accountable for your own actions. Provide support and direction to non-midwifery nursing staff. 2. Provide effective and efficient clinical care in all areas of nursing/midwifery and work in collaboration with the clinical nurse for midwifery and the Nurse Unit Manager. 3. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in all areas. 4. Communicates effectively and documents relevant information in consultation with clients, residents and/or significant others. 5. Utilise leadership skills to enhance the professional development of self and others within the clinical setting. 6. Formulates a plan of care in consultation with individuals/groups taking into account the therapeutic regimes of other members of the health care team. 7. Assists individuals/groups to make informed decisions. 8. Undertake quality improvement and evidence-based practice activities to ensure the provision of quality, cost-effective and safe patient care. 9. Actively promotes Workplace Health and Safety, Employment Equity and Anti-discrimination within the Nursing Division. 10. Provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisation goals. 11. To comply with and utilise contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, including Workplace Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity and Anti-discrimination policies. |
