Your primary experience must be with a mental health service. I can not get you a job if, in the course of your work, you have worked with people who had mental health issues but you were not part of a primary mental health service.

He Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the Role
Are you a Social Worker who is passionate about health social work or wishes to extend your current social work skills This exciting opportunity to work in an amazing Allied Health team at Tauranga Hospital in the beautiful Bay of Plenty may interest you.
This role will be 40 hours per week based within the Tauranga Hospital Allied Health Inpatient Social Work Team. This role could be either fixed term or permanent.
You would be an integral member of the social work service who undertakes client focused, health social work to Tauranga Hospital’s Paediatric, Maternity and Special Care Baby Unit. You will be part of the wider Allied Health team at Tauranga Hospital and work alongside your colleagues in a positive and thriving environment.
With no day being the same, you will have an opportunity to work with people of diverse cultures and ages to undertake biopsychosocial, risk and safety assessments and plan interventions. Utilising your crisis intervention skills you will provide therapeutic support for the patient and whānau and facilitate connections with BOPDHB services and external agencies.
He Korero mōu – About You
The successful candidate will:
Hold a NZ recognised Social Work qualification with SWRB registration
Have proven NZ post graduate experience of at least five years experience, within a primary mental health service provider, and experience in family violence, AOD and mental health would be an advantage.
Have a compassionate nature, who can demonstrate reflexivity and adaptable practice, remaining calm and organised within a challenging, and fast-paced environment.
Have excellent communication and conflict management skills.
Produce timely, accurate written documentation
