Why New Zealand

1.       People are lovely;

2.       You don’t have to see a new patient every 15 or 30 minutes;

3.       Sane politics;

4.       Work here is much less stressful than in the US, UK and many other countries;

5.       Great place to live and work if you are towards the end of your career and looking for an adventure for 2-3 years;

6.       Excellent place to raise children with a good public, school system; and

7.       Our highly coveted, sought after, world class Kiwi Lifestyle.

No Burnout

Generally speaking, Neuro and Clinical Psychologists from the US who now work in NZ find working here to be far less stressful than in the States.   Here are some comments from expat Psychologists now working in New Zealand:

  1. “You work with a team that often includes other Clinical Psychologists, a Psychiatrist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist and Mental Health Nurse;
  2. “There is always someone who knows the patient better than you;
  3. “The biggest factor is that you never see more than about five or six patients a day;
  4. “Generally speaking, working here in an outpatient role has far lower stress; and
  5. “People are still nice here.”

Registration

Registration for most overseas Psychologists is reciprocal so you don’t have to sit an exam.  It’s easy!

Compensation

I am happy to discuss the financials with you.

Chat

Would you like to have a no-pressure, informational chat with me about the entire process from medical registration, to interviewing for a job, work visa and any other questions that you may have?

New Zealand, our beautiful country, friendly people and sane politics are closer than you think!

Kind regards

Ngā mihi nui
