primary requirements

  1. 1. Ph.D. in clinical psychology.
  2. 2. NZ Psychologist registration with clinical scope.
  3. 3. Preferably five years post license experience as a clinical psychologist providing therapy to children and adolescents.
  4. 4. Excellent assessment skills.
  5. 5. Good PC skills.
  6. 6. Either have or able to receive your Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) from the NZ Psychologists Boards.
  7. 7. Experience in care co-coordination desired.
  8. 8. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  9. 9. Able and willing to commit at least two years to our client.
  10. 10. Able and willing to commit at least two years or longer.
  11. 11. Current driver’s licence.
  12. 12. Able to work independently with lots of self-motivation and good organisational skills.
  13. 13. Committed to quality, excellence and professional development.
  14. 14. Familiar with all aspects of child development and family/whanau dynamics.
  15. 15. Culturally sensitive and able to respect and acknowledge differences.
  16. 16. Prior clinical supervisory, training and education experience is a plus.

primary duties

  1. 1. Manage the delivery of assessment, therapeutic and support services to consumer/tangata whaiora as allocated on a daily and ongoing basis.
  2. 2. Provide a quality and responsive assessment for service users/tangata whaiora and their families/whanau referred.
  3. 3. Provide appropriate treatment, therapy and support to liaise with other staff and agencies are required.
  4. 4. Contribute to the multidisciplinary review of service user/tangata whaiora care and ensure regular reviews of service user/tangata whaiora progress against agreed goals are completed, documented and that quality improvement is actively pursued.
  5. 5. Ensure linkages with families/whanau, community agencies, services and support networks are made and maintained for the benefit of the service user/tangata whaiora.
  6. 6. Participate in service user/tangata whaiora focused multi disciplinary approach to caseload management.
  7. 7. Ensure service is delivered in a culturally sensitive manner.
  8. 8. Ensure practice is ethical and that safety of service user/tangata whaiora is considered at all times.
  9. 9. Contribute to service planning and programme development processes.
  10. 10. Continue personal and professional development in order to enhance practice skills.
  11. 11. Participate in continuous quality improvement processes.
  12. 12. Cooperate with output reporting requirements.
  13. 13. Take part in service training and relevant education programmes.
  14. 14. Take some responsibility for quality clinical processes and outcomes for the multi disciplinary team.
  15. 15. Participate in duties, which assist the provision of a comprehensive community mental health service to all service users/tangata whaiora.
  16. 16. Meet standards by knowing what the applicable standards are and undertake any steps necessary to remedy shortfalls in practice and knowledge.
  17. 17. Be open and responsive to service user needs and demonstrate an understanding of continuous quality improvement.
