This is an exciting opportunity to work in a state-of-the art department supported by a highly effective emergency department team.
This hospital serves a mixed adult-paediatric urban district emergency department that sees around 47,000 patients per year with an admission rate of around 25%. This ED is supported by a 16 bed assessment and planning unit as well as excellent medical and surgical teams. this particular hospital is also the regional centre for burns and plastics.
This department is part of the emergency medicine sub-regional training programme with Wellington Regional Hospital with 18 junior level that is accredited for 123 months’ registrar training. Staffing has recently increased for both senior and junior medical staff, clinical nurse specialists, nurse practitioners, nurses and administration.
They are committed to clinical excellent in all disciplines. Senior Medical Staff are encouraged to take part in clinical audits and peer-reviews to ensure quality care is provided. This position offers some flexibility as a fixed term or on a locum basisd.
We are looking for Emergency Medicine Doctors who are:
. Vocationally registered in Emergency Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ);
. FACEM or equivalent qualification being able to register for vocational registration or locum tenens with MCNZ;
. Overseas Doctors must meet all of Immigration New Zealand’s visa requirements; and
. Relevant training and experience required.
