I have a six months’, fixed term vacancy to fill in Christchurch.

Their products are digital radio transceivers operating from VHF through to low GHz frequencies. The focus of the position includes but not limited to the following areas:

• High Speed Digital Signal Processing and Peripherals Interface Design
• Digital and Analogue Interface (Serial and Fibre Interfaces)
• Analogue and Audio Circuit Design
• The role may involve FPGA Design

Primary technical requirements include:

• Experienced in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Good knowledge of wireless communication system architecture
• Experienced in digital and analogue interfaces (RS232, RS422, X.21, G.703, Fibre C37.94, G.704 etc.)
• Experienced in high speed memory and digital interface design
• Experienced in digital and analogue circuit design and analysis
• Good understanding of switch mode power supply circuit design is preferred
• Experience in PCB CAD/Circuit Design tools and PCB layout design is preferred
• Experience in coding of the algorithms for wireless communication system across FPGA hardware platforms is preferred

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Capturing, analysing and documenting requirements (interfaces, functionality and performance)
• Involvement in system integration and testing
• Interfacing with other disciplines
• Design and development of high speed digital circuit and peripherals
• Design and development of digital and analogue interfaces (RS232, RS422, X.21, G703, Fibre C37.94, G704 etc.)
• Design of Switch mode power supply circuits
• EMC and safety compliance of radio products for international markets
• Support and integration of 3rd parties equipment and systems Defining & refining appropriate design specification and product testing
• Documentation of all activities to an agreed standard
• Coding of the algorithms on an FPGA hardware platform. Testing and debugging the solution
