I would like to draw your attention to a permanent opportunity for a keen and skilled Hardware Engineer to join a telecommunications, Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand, based company who I have recruited for a number of years.
• Remuneration is NZ$65,000 to $100,000 per annum depending on level of experience and qualifications.

• This is a permanent position providing a road to permanent residency to overseas candidates.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
• Work on a number of key projects and be involved in test design, automation, execution and maintenance of manual and automated test suites;
• Take pride in a number of products and solutions that end up in diverse and often harsh environments so some pretty heavy testing is required to meet the demands of users;
• Apply a range of different test methodologies including exploratory test methods within a range of different contexts;
• Be responsible for test design, execution, regression testing and exploratory testing;
• Set up test tools and test environments according to the provided test specifications;
• Undertake development, setup and maintenance of automated systems for both hardware and software; and
• Report on test results and preparing issue reports.

Skills that would make you an ideal candidate include:
• Exposure to commercial software testing for at least five years or more;
• Relevant tertiary qualification;
• Existing programming experience at an intermediate level (ideally Python or any Object orientated programming language);
• Relevant experience in designing, maintaining and executing manual and automated test suites and exploratory testing;
• Experience in applying your programming skills towards a commercial project;
• Embedded software experience; and
• Demonstrated proven exposure to Agile methodologies
It would also be an advantage to have experience in:
• Test frameworks and continuous integration systems;
• Communication systems;
• IP networking; and
• Linux operating system.

• Has the desire to share and learn from colleagues whilst working in high performing test team; and
• Is a flexible team player with an inquisitive mind, strong problem solving and analysis skills who is eager to learn and able to switch context rapidly.
