Technical Communications Systems Business Analyst with Product Development Focus

This position is based in Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand, at the corporate headquarters of a highly acclaimed communications original equipment design and manufacturer. Remuneration is NZ$85,000 to $105,000 per annum depending on level of experience and qualifications.

• This is a permanent position coming with four weeks’ paid annual leave and health insurance for you and your dependents after 12 months’ continuous employment.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
 Be part of a high-performing engineering team working on some key projects;
 Support the engineering team ensuring that product requirements and customer use cases are sufficiently captured and documented;
 Liaise closely with Product Architects and Technical Leads;
 Engage with end-user handheld communications devices;
 Assist with project coordination activities to capture plans, costs and resourcing needs;
 Continuously improve team and product performance and efficiencies;
 Influencing improvements through your being empowered to critically assess engineering processes and workflows;
 Work in cross-functional, agile, development teams;
 Be exposed to a diverse range of learning opportunities;
 Share knowledge, collaborate and spark off of each other;
Skills that would make you an ideal candidate include:
 Great communications skills;
 Able to deal with a wide, diverse range of people coming from various ethnical and cultural backgrounds;
 Able to bridge the gap between customer problems and the technical capabilities of their communications’ systems;
 Capable of extracting a clear understanding of their customers’ problems;
 Able to extract requirements to present to the development team;
 Prior experience with telecommunications products and protocols;
 Adept in working with the full, commercial, product development lifecycle;
 Good knowledge and application of leading-edge software development practices and design;
 Prior Engineering experience an advantage.
