CNC Programmer Machinist Operator – Christchurch, New Zealand

Contex Engineers produces component parts, assemblies and complete solutions for New Zealand’s most visionary manufacturers. The industries we service range across scientific equipment and instruments, medical equipment, safety equipment, high tech electronics in automotive, computing, GPS positioning, military and aviation.
Right now we need to hire at least one and maybe two people to work with our workshop team starting as early as possible in 2017. The team here is highly motivated to provide a world class service to our diverse customer base that demands service, quality, delivery and communication. To meet these demands skills and knowledge are shared and communication is open and trusting.
The work involved is a mix of prototyping, tooling, short runs and production runs and involves 2, 3 and 4 axis machining. Hand skills would be an added incentive to hire you.
The specific skills we need for these roles are:
• An advanced knowledge of Cam programming (Currently we use Gibbs Cam V11.3.18)
• An ability to operate CNC lathes and machining centres to produce parts to fine tolerances.
•An ability to achieve deadlines and hit planned target times
•Strong problem solving skills; ability to think through and identify key issues and resolve them
•Ability to work rotating shifts (7am-3:30pm / 11am-9pm)
•Flexibility to change and meet the priorities of the production process
•An absolute commitment to quality, and the resolving of quality concerns
•An ability to manage priorities and time
•Fit into a “LEAN” manufacturing environment that is ISO9001:2008 accredited.
•Most importantly being enthusiastic, energetic, open to learning, and being able to contribute to the success of the company.
