Why New Zealand
1. People are lovely;
2. You don’t have to see a new patient every 15 or 30 minutes;
3. Sane politics;
4. Work here is much less stressful than in the US, UK and many other countries;
5. Great place to live and work if you are towards the end of your career and looking for an adventure for a few months;
6. Excellent place to raise children with a good public, school system; and
7. Our highly coveted, sought after, world class Kiwi Lifestyle.

Burnout
Generally speaking, my Psychiatrists from the US find working here to be far less stressful than in the States. Here are some comments from expat US Psychiatrists now working in New Zealand:

1) “You work with a team that often includes a Clinical Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist and Mental Health Nurse”;
2) “There is always someone who knows the patient better than you”;
3) “The biggest factor is that you never see more than about five or six patients a day”;
4) “Generally speaking, working here in an outpatient role has far lower stress”; and
5) “People are still nice here.”

Registration
Larry will handle your entire registration application. All you have to do is to provide the information that he asks for and pay the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) invoices.

Compensation
Pay scale information available upon request.
