Dear Psychologist
I have a vacancy to fill in beautiful New Plymouth, North Island, New Zealand for a NZ Psychologist or an overseas Psychologist who has a Doctorate in Clinical, Neuro or Health Psychology who meets all of the registration requirements, including 1500 hours’ supervised, accredited internship or practicum and at least 3-5 years post’ license experience. The successful applicant must commit at least two years plus be able to obtain a work visa.

About the role
• Will see mostly Adults with some occasional need to see children and adolescents
• Desire a Psychologist trained in Neuro, Health and/or Clinical aspects of Psychology
• Would like more than one year’s experience
• Must be comfortable working on your own with limited support on-site from subcontractors
• Multi-disicplinary team includes two OTs SW three Physio, nurses and Psychiatrist to consult with
• Not a lot of testing
• Strong report writing abilities necessary
• Psychotherapy is an important part of this role
• Salary paid slightly above the APEX MECA go from $75,000-105,000 with potential to provide some leadership later on
• Any exposure to health psychology including chronic pain, traumatic brain injuries and concussions with some neuropsychology background desired
• Would see around 4-5 clients a day
• Carry out thorough professional assessments and make recommendations with sound clinical reasoning
• Use standardised assessments and outcome measures as appropriate
• Provide written and verbal summaries of assessments, with clear treatment goals and rationales
• Produce professional, well written, clearly reasoned psychological reports that meets the criteria set out in the service specification for the relevant contracts
• Provide evidence-based psychological treatment, to assist clients to achieve rehabilitation goals
• Work autonomously
• Liaise with administrative staff and case manager regarding appointments, DNAS and follow up visits required
• Where appropriate provide information, education or instruction to minimize risks and promote recovery
• Liaise with involved multidisciplinary team and other agencies or health providers as required
• Attend any meetings that are required such as reviews, case conferences, planning meeting
• Carry out these duties within the timescales set out in service specification for the relevant contract
• Co-ordinate, analyse, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner. • Work independently without direct supervision
• Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
• Remain professional at all times and demonstrate good awareness of the principles of customer care and the responsibilities that the employer has to funding agencies, clients and other customers of the service
• Work in partnership with others both within and external to the company as required
• To work with the admin team to ensure appointments are managed in a timely fashion. Educational

The purpose of the Psychologist role is to:
Complete psychological assessments under Habit Group contracts and provide evidence based psychological treatment to a caseload of clients
Engage in, and encourage, a multidisciplinary team approach to rehabilitation, thereby providing a robust and effective service in the assigned geography
Collaborate closely with all customers and other agencies within the private, Education, Health, Social Care, Community and voluntary sectors
Promote ACC branch relationships and contribute to service development
Achieve Performance KPI’s related to work volume and contract timeframes
